A year in the life of a wildlife photographer

By Steve Houghton, Wildlife Police Officer and photographer from Leicestershire

The latest indoor meeting of the society featured Steve Houghton a local wildlife photographer who is well known to many of our members, for one reason or another.

Steve concentrates on various subjects throughout the year and took us through some of his favourite subjects with a humorous and well constructed talk illustrated by his excellent photographs.

During the last 12 months Steve has taken in Bird photography very often in his own garden, Butterflies around the East Midlands, his beloved Dragonflies across many local sites, Mountain Hares in the Peak District, Grey Seals at Donna Nook, Snakes in various locations, Grasshoppers at Aston Rowant and in the New Forest.

An excellent evening finished off with Mince Pies in anticipation of Xmas.

We look forward to welcoming Steve back soon.
