A small group met at the car park in damp conditions but by the time we set off the weather had improved and in fact the rest of the day was pleasant.
On our walk down to the first hide we were commenting not only about the birds but the possibiity of seeing chinese water deer. To our surprise when scanning across one of the pools we had a brief view of one in the distance – an excellent start.
Throughout our walk we saw some excellent birds.
A fly past Spoonbill, a large flock of Golden Plover, Little Stint, Spotted Redshank, Curlew Sandpipers, Grey Plover, Cettis Warblers were heard as were Water Rail, Avocets were still about as were many of the normal birds expected.
